The library staff is always happy to assist you with a blocked site request. It is important to note that we rarely know the reason why.
Sometimes the decision is made to keep a site blocked. If the site is educational in nature, it is generally quickly unblocked. The teacher then reports the blocked site to the technology help desk where it is sorted and sent to the appropriate personnel in the IT department. The codes within the error message are helpful for the IT department to determine why a site may be blocked by the filter. The procedure for any blocked site is to alert the teacher and, if possible, send a screen shot of the error message received on the site. Occasionally network updates "re-block" sites that were previously available that cause a temporary loss of access. While we appreciate hearing student concerns, neither the library nor the school has the last word on which sites students are permitted to access using the district network.
